American group of family Broderius following the footsteps of their ancestors in Kropp, Tetenhusen and Owschlag

International flair at Kropp: A travelling party of 15 people from the United States was welcomed yesterday morning by mayor Reinhard Mueller at the town hall. The group is a sort of vanguard for the Broderius-family reunion, celebrating on saturday in the restaurant "Rose Garden" in Kropp with 130 members. The reunion was organized by Juergen Groth from Friedrichsholm.

Beside Reinhard Mueller also the mayor from Owschlag, Ernst Steffen, and his counterpart, Juergen Kroll, from Tetenhusen welcomed the American visitors. The main component of the reception was a comprehensive informing about facts and figures about these three communities where the ancestors once lived. In addition, the three community leaders demonstrated their expertise on regional development, when the visitors from the United States asked many questions about the history, wind power and infrastructure.

The further program was a tour to two building areas in the community and the “Diakonisches Werk” in Kropp. In the Owschlager District Norby, the Americans took a look at the parent house of the Brodersen-family. And the school in Owschlag and former schoolhouse in Tetenhusen was for the group of great importance, since one of the ancestors worked there as a teacher. "It's very beautiful here, and very interesting for us," summed Luise Sierk from California the impressions of the group.
